Furniture designer Joe Ellwood OH (2016) has been invited to exhibit at the prestigious London Design Festival.

Joe, who is just about to embark on a two-year Masters Degree at the renowned Royal College of Art discovered his love of design and furniture after making a summer house in his parents’ back garden. His talent was nurtured during a work placement with renowned cabinet maker John Griffiths giving Joe the confidence to set up his own company Six Dots Design.

Joe now joins some of the biggest names in the industry at the Design London exhibition which showcases the latest in contemporary design and which is part of the wider London Design Festival attended by thousands of visitors.

Joe believes that the three-day show will help introduce his work to a wider audience and give him more insight into the profession. When it comes to the ethos behind his work, he hopes it will resonate with those wanting to create a more sustainable way of living:

My ambition is to create pieces using high quality materials and traditional joinery that are long-lasting and loved and cherished for years to come.

Joe will have a stand at Design London from 22 – 25 September.
