Hampton’s chess players have topped the 2024 Brian Poulter Chess League – with a hugely impressive overall record of eight wins and two draws.

The Hampton First Team also excelled at the English Schools’ Chess Championships joining the top 26 schools from across the country who had qualified by winning their respective regions.

On day one, Hampton’s players performed faultlessly, winning matches against Queen Elizabeth Hospital School and Exeter School before ending the day with a 4-2 victory against City of London School. The second day saw them win one game and lose one, leading to an overall second place spot on the results table – a phenomenal result.  Well done to all involved.
