Hampton’s First XI footballers have reached the U18s English Schools’ FA Cup Final.
The team celebrated a hard-fought semi-final victory against Maidstone Grammar School, winning in the last minute of extra time with a master stroke from Captain Ollie to the euphoria of the Hampton supporters lining the side of the 3G, including fellow pupils, alumni and parents.
This achievement marks the third time in seven years that a Hampton side has reached the last two in what is widely regarded as the most prestigious competition in schools’ football. The consistency of success reflects the exceptional talent, commitment, and team spirit nurtured within Hampton Football.
The final will be held at the Stoke City FC ground and, has become tradition, hundreds of Hampton supporters from across the year groups are expected to make the journey to Stoke to lend their full-voiced support and encouragement throughout the match.
Reflecting on the journey to the Final, Captain Ollie described the moment as a lifelong ambition fulfilled:
I always remember watching the 2019 ESFA victory as a First Year and Mr Knibbs saying to us – ‘that could be you one day’ – and here we are as Sixth Formers in our own ESFA Final. This is the perfect end to our season and we are so proud to be playing in the Final in front of the Hampton Community.
The entire School congratulates the squad and coaching team on this outstanding achievement and looks forward to supporting the boys as they aim to bring the ESFA trophy back to Hampton.
