Jack Wheating is a Mechanical Engineer for The Tyre Collective, a clean-tech company which captures and monitors tyre wear particles, accelerating the shift towards zero-emissions. Jack’s interest in protecting the environment grew while he was studying a Masters in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Bristol. He’s led and managed research into increasing tyre wear capture efficiency, and the behaviour type of tyre wear particles. Jack has been instrumental in rolling out The Tyre Collective’s environmental innovation in the Netherlands with car fleets used by companies such as Alphabet and Post NL.

He’s written for the Daily Mail covering the 2017 British & Irish Lions tour to New Zealand, and the 2019 World Cup in Japan. In 2022, Will moved to The Times and is currently their Deputy Rugby Correspondent. He’s reported from the 2023 World Cup in France to tours in Japan, Australia, and New Zealand. Will also writes on the Premiership and hosts The Ruck podcast.

Matt Oxborrow

Space Hardware Test Engineer, RAL Space
After graduating from the University of Birmingham with honours in Advanced Mechanical Engineering, including participating in a project run by the Swedish National Space Board, German Space Agency, and the European Space Agency, Matt was successful in applying for the graduate scheme at RAL Space; the UK’s national laboratory, advancing the understanding of space and our environment for the benefit of all.
He has since developed his career to become a test engineer in the Dynamics Team, responsible for ensuring that spacecraft components survive their explosive journey into space, which includes handling extreme shock and vibration during a rocket launch.
Matt has provided testing services for numerous projects, several of which have since launched and is well versed in handling space hardware, particularly in the assembly and test project stage, as well as more widely experienced in project management and client engagement beyond his technical expertise. He has presented at international conferences on research completed in spacecraft testing.
Having recently completed his chartership, Matt is a full member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers; a global, inclusive, and thriving community, purpose-driven and committed to improving the world through engineering.
Tom Nunan

Broadcast Journalist
Tom is an award-winning broadcast journalist, specialising in radio and podcasts.
Having been part of the Digital Committee which set up the first Hampton School Radio, Tom discovered a love of broadcasting whilst studying Human, Social and Political Sciences at the University of Cambridge, producing and presenting three weekly entertainment and political shows on Cam FM; a student run radio station.
Subsequently, Tom achieved a Master of Arts in Broadcast Journalism from City, University of London, and during so won ‘Best Podcast’ at the Broadcast Journalism Training Council’s awards in 2022.
In 2023 he was named ‘Student Journalist of the Year’ at the Commercial Radio News Awards and has since worked as a newsreader at Times Radio and the BBC, covering news at home and abroad including the UK General Election in 2024, Donald Trump’s second election win in the US and the death of Queen Elizabeth II.
